eine kleine Würdigung möchte hier nun veröffentlicht werden (wieder einmal) - inspiriert von einem möglichen neuen Kapitel der Kunstgeschichte, verleihe ich meiner Stimmung hier Ausdruck und poste...zu Banksy, dem inspirierenden Star (welcher heute mal ´ne Präsentation einleiten durfte).

Mr. Robert Banks, oder nun Robin Banksy (das bleibt wohl unklar), als Einzelperson oder Gruppe, widme ich ein paar Zeilen....was an ihm auffällt, ist sein Humor, sein Witz...die Inspiration sozusagen! Banksy signiert und beherrscht seine Umwelt, ohne durch sie beherrscht zu werden. Etwas tiefgreifend Freundliches wird in die Städte, Museen gebracht, wobei mir die bestechende Intelligenz am meisten imponiert.
Das Credo von Warhol und Roy Lichtenstein hat er verstanden, KEIN Sprayer mit Schablone und Stencil, whatever...heute im Atelier, sofern nicht auf die Kameras im öffentlichen Raum abzielend!
Interagierende Kunst, ohne multimedial zu sein!

ganz nach dem Motto "CHANGING THE GAME" hatte ich vor ein paar Monaten das besondere Vergnügen für die Marketingabteilung von AUTODESK in SanFrancisco einen "winzigen" Fotojob zu machen...es ging dabei darum, Persönlichkeiten der Autodesk-Reseller in ihrem beruflichen Umfeld abzulichten, um die dahinterstehenden Erfolgsgeschichten dieser ausgewählten Personen in einem besonderen Rahmen anzusprechen und zu adressieren, eben für diese sog. "ONE Team Conference 2007" in Las Vegas.

heute (und ich hatte schon nicht mehr daran gedacht) kam dann das Lebenszeichen, dass tatsächlich mit den Fotos was anzufangen gewesen sein musste!

I have been meaning to send you a sincere thank you for quite awhile. Alas, now I have finally gathered some images to send to you all to show some examples of the photographs you took for the Autodesk One Team Conference. The event was a huge success, in no small part due to the recognition of our reseller partners in the photographs you took. These examples do not show all uses but give you an idea of the final product.

Witzig war die unscheinbare Anbahnung über Flickr, wobei ich mich relativ vorsichtig an die an mich gestellte Anfrage herangetastet habe. Ein paar Mails über einen Zeitraum von ein paar Wochen, dann die Do-Phase, die "paid-assignment" - Abwicklung und nun die Loorbeeren, die für mich als Amateurfotograf eine ganz besondere Freude darstellen. Nice! THE MORE THINGS CHANGE, the LESS YOU CAN AFFORD TO STAY THE SAME.

Der deutsche Titel "Die Silicon Valley Story" wurde ebenfalls auf ARTE.tv am Freitag abend ausgestrahlt, wobei die Anfänge von Apple und Microsoft filmdokumentarisch aufbereitet sind, und die Konflikte zwischen Bill Gates und Steve Jobs abhandelt.

Die Story von Martyn Burke (1999) basiert auf dem Buch "Fire in the Valley -The Making of the Personal Computer" from Paul Freiberger and Michael Swaine. Das Video kann man hier ansehen!

...if you make it easy for people to choose, they will always pick more variety over less (it improves the chance that they will find exactly what they want, or discover something new that they like even better than what they thought they wanted). But if it´s hard to choose, they settle for the simplicity of limited variety.
The paradoxs of choice is simply an artifact of the limitation of the physical world, where the information necessary to make an informed choice is lost. But we also know that variety alone is not enough! We also need information about the variety and what others before have done with the same choices.
Order it wrong and choice is oppressive; Order it right and it is liberating...
and the duck was following...

The breaking wave is an interesting motive - and surfing such a profoundly visual act -, that it´s not surprising that surf art and surf photography has become a powerful, hyper-specialised genre.
Yet the act of heé nalu, or wave sliding, is as organic and expressionistic as it is visual. Capable surf art - and there´s plenty of it - takes our collective vision of surfing to some deep places. To paraphrase Robert Hughes, it has particular address to our spirit.
